There are times in life when you need to rise to the occasion.

You can’t always sit on the fence. You must get up and accept responsibility for your life and dreams. 

The easiest thing to do is to watch, and I’ve found out that those who merely watch things unfold never share in the glory. 

It is your participation that determines your portion.

The race of life is for participators, not spectators.

Life only rewards those who rise to the occasion. 

Nothing great falls on anyone’s lap. There are no free meals in life.

STEPS TO RISING TO THE OCCASION

1. Be aware of what’s happening in your environment.

A clear understanding of your environment gives you the capacity to rise to every occasion. Many have missed great opportunities simply by not being aware. 

New markets, systems, and business advantages have escaped some individuals just because they played dead.

You need to understand that the law of awareness informs your participation, and it is participation that guarantees the results you enjoy.

2. Know what you are cut out for.

It is not every opportunity that is for you. You must know your strength before deciding to rise to an occasion. This will save you time and energy.

Interest isn’t enough; capacity is equally important.

Interest gets you started, but capacity gets you through.

3. Stay focused 

Focus is required to sustain your decision to rise to the occasion. 

Enthusiasm can get you started, but only focus can sustain you till the desired outcome. 

Usually, the enthusiasm at the start of any endeavour is high, but it stems down as time goes by. 

This is where focus comes in. 

4. Fight to the finish.

A dogged and fighting spirit is required to sustain any move and be successful at it.

Success becomes possible when you commit to fighting your way through any decision you’ve made already. 

So, be aware, know what you’re built for, maintain focus and fight to the finish.
